City Of North Port issued the following announcement on Jun. 29.
This morning, Commissioners, the City Manager and other leaders joined Public Works staff as we cut the ribbon for the newly replaced Water Control Structure 108, located on the Cocoplum Waterway, near the intersection of Collingswood Boulevard and Hillsborough Boulevard.
Originally built in the '60s, the original structure was due for replacement, having extensive corrosion damage. Construction on the replacement began in February and was completed earlier this month, 5 months ahead of the project deadline of November!
