Congressman Greg Steube, who represents Florida's 17th congressional district, posted a series of tweets in mid-October 2025 reflecting on a tribute event for conservative activist Charlie Kirk and expressing gratitude to local law enforcement.
On October 18, 2025, Steube quoted Kirk’s statement: "In Charlie Kirk’s own words, he said, 'If you eliminate me, others will rise with louder voices.' And today, there are thousands of Charlie Kirks with louder voices. Every day Americans rising up to embody freedom and liberty. It was an honor to speak in front of 3,000 fellow". The tweet references both his participation as a speaker at the event and the turnout.
Later that same day, Steube thanked local law enforcement via social media: "Thank you to @SarasotaPD for keeping us all safe at today’s tribute to Charlie Kirk. I’m grateful to each and every member of law enforcement for their service to our community. And thank you for the chance for Jen and I to meet the new police “dog.”" (October 18, 2025).

Charlie Kirk is a well-known conservative commentator and founder of Turning Point USA. Congressman Greg Steube has been recognized for his alignment with conservative causes during his tenure in Congress.
