U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) has introduced legislation aimed at preventing the sharing of American taxpayer, patient, and vaccine data with international entities. The bill, called the Health Privacy From Global Bureaucrats Act, would prohibit both the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) from providing such information to the World Health Organization (WHO) or foreign governments.

“No foreign government or international organization should have unfettered access to your private medical records and tax returns,” said Rep. Steube. “Americans deserve the peace of mind knowing their personal information is not being passed around the World Health Organization and neighboring states. My bill will make sure bureaucrats at the IRS and HHS respect your right to privacy as a U.S. citizen.”

The proposed legislation directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Secretary of the Treasury to restrict any release of this sensitive data to outside organizations.

A full version of the bill is available for public review.
