On August 14, 2025, Steube alleged misconduct by former intelligence officials. He stated, "Clapper, Comey, and Brennan all lied to Congress to hide their role in the Russiagate hoax. They abused their power and exploited the intelligence apparatus to undermine President Trump and America. But thanks to @DNIGabbard and @FBIDirectorKash, their scheme and cover-up failed."

The following day, Steube commented on a diplomatic event involving former President Donald Trump. On August 15, 2025, he wrote: "President Trump is meeting today with Vladimir Putin in Alaska. This is a historic opportunity for peace that is only possible because of President Trump’s commitment to ending the war in Ukraine.

Putin knows that if he doesn’t take real steps towards peace at this summit,"

Later that same day, Steube addressed U.S.-China economic relations and congressional action regarding American workers' interests. He tweeted: "China has ripped off our country for far too long. American workers have the right to compete on a level playing field. President Trump is stepping up to defend our economy. It’s time for Congress to do the same.

That is why I am partnering with @RepGolden to protect U.S."
