U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) and Senator Jim Banks (R-Ind.) have introduced the Restoring Biological Truth to the Workplace Act. This legislation aims to protect Americans from workplace discrimination and retaliation for affirming that there are two genders. The bill is a reinforcement of President Trump's Executive Order 14168, which defends women from gender ideology extremism.
Rep. Steube stated, "Americans should never be punished for saying there are only two genders: male and female." He emphasized that acknowledging reality should not lead to termination and expressed gratitude for partnering with Senator Banks on this initiative.
Senator Banks remarked, "This bill is about protecting common sense," adding that Americans should not fear job loss for acknowledging biological sex.
The bill strengthens employee protections under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. It clarifies that employers cannot retaliate against employees who express views on biological sex or use facilities consistent with their biological sex. The legislation also prohibits employer pretexts to discipline such employees under federal civil rights law.
Rep. Steube has previously introduced related legislation, including the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, continuing his advocacy for defending biological reality.
