Congressman Greg Steube, who has served in the U.S. Congress since 2019 representing Florida’s 17th district, took to social media on April 15, 2025, to address several significant topics. Steube's tweets, posted throughout the day, included a statement of gratitude, tax filing information, and comments on agricultural trade policy.

On April 15, 2025, Congressman Steube expressed his gratitude for efforts in educating and enforcing border security measures. He commended, "Thank you, @StephenM, for educating the fake news on deporting illegal gang members—and thank you to @realDonaldTrump for securing our borders." This tweet acknowledged contributions toward deporting illegal gang members and securing U.S. borders.

In another tweet posted later that day, Steube informed residents of his district about a tax filing extension granted by the IRS. He noted, "While today is Tax Day for most Americans, residents of Florida’s 17th Congressional District have until May 1, 2025, to file federal taxes. This extension was granted by the IRS due to the impacts of Hurricanes Helene and Milton." This communication provided critical information for those affected taxpayers.

Additionally, Steube addressed issues facing local agriculture in another post on April 15, 2025. He stated, "Florida farmers have been sounding the alarm for years: cheap tomato imports are crushing American growers. @CommerceGov is finally taking action: ending a broken trade agreement and restoring tariffs to level the playing field. This is a big win for U.S. agriculture, American" In this statement, Steube highlighted the challenges faced by American tomato growers and applauded the Commerce Department's actions to amend trade agreements.

Greg Steube has a comprehensive political career background, having first served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2010 to 2016. He replaced previous U.S Congress member Tom Rooney in 2019. Furthermore, he was born in Bradenton, Florida, in 1978, and currently resides in Sarasota. An alumnus of the University of Florida, Steube graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2000 and a Juris Doctor in 2003.
