Congressman Steube addressed the CBS Evening News on March 29, 2025, challenging their coverage of Social Security. He stated, "Hey, CBS Evening News, stop lying to seniors. There are ZERO cuts to Social Security. No bill has been filed in Congress to cut benefits, and cleaning up payments to dead people doesn’t impact living Americans. Stop the scare tactics."

Additionally, on the same day, Steube recognized the contributions of Vietnam War veterans, stating, "Today, we honor the brave men and women who served in the Vietnam War. Many of you didn’t receive the warm welcome home you deserved after fearlessly serving our country. But know this: your service and sacrifice will never be forgotten. Thank you for defending our freedom."
