ACADEMY PREP CENTER OF LAKELAND: Earlier this month some of our APL students attended the award ceremony for the Polk County Regional Science Fair. Please join us in congratulating our winners!

Academy Prep Center Of Lakeland issued the following announcement on Feb. 23. 

Earlier this month some of our APL students attended the award ceremony for the Polk County Regional Science Fair. Please join us in congratulating our winners!

Daryeliz Torres received 1st place in Jr. Microbiology.  She qualified to compete at the State Science Fair and is also invited to compete at the Thermo Fisher Scientific Engineering Challenge. Her project was about decreasing gas pump bacteria. 

Aidan Calderon achieved 2nd place in Jr. Animal Sciences and received recognition from the American Psychological Association for his project titled, "Do Dogs Prefer Homemade or Store Bought Pet Food?" Andrea Martinez took 2nd place in Jr. Physics for her project on diamagnetism and paramagnetism.  Mikelangelo Bautista received 2nd place in Jr. Behavioral Sciences for his project, "The Test." 

Jayden Jones took 3rd place in Jr. Environmental Sciences and received recognition from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for his project, "Trash by the Ocean". Zuleh Zayas-Berrios achieved 3rd place in Jr. Biomedical Science for her project on Elevated Blood Pressure Due to Teacher Stress. Kimora Jones received 3rd place in Jr. Chemistry for her project, "Neutralizing Stomach Acid with Antacids". Ettinosa Omorodion took 3rd place in Jr. Behavioral Sciences for his project about Essential Oils.
