Academy Prep Center Of Lakeland issued the following announcement on Feb. 10.
Yesterday we held an excellent Black History Month Celebration, which included a panel of esteemed speakers, music, dancing, poetry, food, and student performances from our Advanced Chorus and Bucket Drumming enrichments. After the program, everyone enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Unique WINGS & Thangs.
Thank you to the many special guests who attended the event, including Lakeland Mayor Bill Mutz, the team from Crystal's World of Dance, and our panel: Jordon Corbett, Dr. Markeishia Smith, Jeffrey Williams, Deloris Patterson, and APL 8th grader Kayiona Sullivan.
A special thank you to Ms. Jasmar Bennett for planning the event. Thank you to everyone for being a special part of this year's event.
