Join us as we celebrate the official grand opening of the Ringling Trail complete street!
Stretching from Lime to Pineapple avenues, the Ringling Trail complete street offers a protected bicycle-friendly environment with enhanced connectivity between The Legacy Trail and downtown core.
A complete street is unique to a community and promotes safe travel whether biking, driving a vehicle, walking or riding a bus. The Ringling Trail design includes repurposing a travel lane as a protected bicycle lane with portions painted green to enhance cyclist and driver safety.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will include City Commissioners, Friends of The Legacy Trail, Sarasota Manatee Bicycle Club, Trust for Public Lands and will conclude with a fun bicycle ride along the Trail. The first 100 attendees will receive a special commemorative reflector keychain emblazoned with the new City of Sarasota seal. Veo, the City’s e-scooter/bike sharing vendor, will be there offering demonstrations and giveaways.
Event Location: The ceremony will be held on the north side of the Ringling Boulevard/Legacy Trail intersection, just east of School Avenue.
Attendees are encouraged to bike or walk to the event. Parking is available in the nearby Sarasota County surface parking lot and garage located at Ringling Boulevard and School Avenue.
