City Of North Port issued the following announcement on Oct. 12.
Debris collection for the day has been suspended for lightning in the area. To this point, crews have covered over 20 percent of their initial pass through the City, collecting over 200,000 yards of tree debris. As a reminder:
Separate your piles by material
No debris in bags
Place your debris clear of any potential obstacles (i.e. mailbox, vehicle, backflow equipment or overhead power lines)
