City Of Venice issued the following announcement on Jan. 17.
Venice LDR Public Workshops set for 1/19-20
The City of Venice Land Development Regulations (LDR) are guidelines that govern land development and implement the visions, intents, and strategies of the 2017-2027 Comprehensive Plan. The existing LDR does not implement the Comprehensive Plan. The City of Venice has been working to rewrite the LDR since 2018. This new document will make the code and associated processes easier to use and understand, in addition to modernizing it.
Part of the process of adopting the new LDR involves a change in zoning to some parcels in the City. The City will hold public workshops for those property owners experiencing a zoning change. If your property is involved, you are being notified via the U.S. Postal Service.
The workshops will provide affected property owners an opportunity to have general questions answered. A public workshop on the rezoning process will be held by the City’s Planning & Zoning Department. If you wish to take advantage of this opportunity, you may attend the community workshop noted in your letter. During the workshop, planning staff will be available to answer your questions. We are hopeful that the presentation will be available on the Planning & Zoning Department website, along with related information.
We encourage you to attend the applicable workshop if you have questions and look forward to seeing you there. Please bring the letter and development standards comparison sheet with you to the meeting on the specified date.

Date for Mixed Use district properties: Jan. 20, 2022, 5 p.m.-7 p.m.
