City Of North Port issued the following announcement on Sep. 09.
Hey, have y’all met Garrett? Garrett Maddy recently received his Tech II certification and has been assigned as a crew leader for 3-man crew in the Utilities Department. Starting with the Utilities Department 5 years ago, Garrett began work as a meter reader and quickly worked his way into the service crew performing valve maintenance and supporting service crews and meter changeouts. Garrett stated, “My main focus is getting all the licenses and certifications needed to excel my career at Utilities and continue to learn new skills and techniques along the way.”
Garrett’s late father, Troy Maddy, was a long-term and well-respected employee in Utilities. For several years, Garrett had the opportunity to work alongside his father and continues to carry on his name and reputation. Also, Garrett’s mom, Kim, makes the most incredible desserts for our pot luck get-togethers and was an integral part in Utilities’ Christmas drive! Thank you, Maddys, for being a part of our Utilities family!
