CITY OF SARASOTA: Unconditional Surrender public feedback survey now open

Sarasota

City of Sarasota issued the following announcement on Sept. 18

An online survey is now available to gather public feedback on possible sites for the relocation of the Unconditional Surrender statue.

The brief survey provides visuals of the nine potential sites for the City-owned statue, which must be moved from its current spot along the Bayfront to accommodate the Florida Department of Transportation’s construction of a new roundabout at U.S. 41 and Gulfstream Avenue in 2021.

To take the survey, visit surveymonkey.com/r/Unconditional_Surrender. The survey will be open until 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25.

The City Commission will make the final decision on the relocation of Unconditional Surrender at a future meeting. A date has not yet been scheduled. The survey results will be included in the materials provided to the City Commission to be considered as part of its deliberations at that meeting.
