CITY OF NORTH PORT: Parks & Recreation Department Receives FFEA Sunsational Awards.

City of North Port issued the following announcement on Aug. 28

The City of North Port Parks & Recreation Department recently received two Sunsational Awards from the Florida Festival & Events Association (FFEA). The awards program recognizes members' innovation, individuality and creative collaboration.  Entries are judged by professionals in their fields of radio, television, photography, website development, promotions, graphics, advertising, public relations, marketing, social media, and special event production.

North Port Parks & Recreation received the following:

  • First place for Community Engagement Response to Pandemic for the “Bunny Squad Scramble”
  • Second place for Program/Event Guide/Brochure for the “Outdoor Adventure Guide”
“It is a great honor for staff to be recognized by our peers in the industry for their hard work in creating events and developing engaging content for the community,” said Sandy Pfundheller, Director of Parks & Recreation. “They have shown great dedication to serving our City, finding new and innovative ways to provide parks and recreation services, even in the midst of a pandemic.”
