City of Venice issued the following announcement on Aug. 7
Venice City Council and advisory board meetings will now begin using a hybrid approach, which means meetings will be held in Council chambers in City Hall at 401 W. Venice Ave., and be virtual. Agendas are posted approximately one week prior to the meeting on the City website at: https://venice.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx. The meetings will be simultaneously broadcast live on the City’s website and Zoom, and each agenda will provide instructions on how to participate in these meetings.
City Council and advisory board members who choose to attend in person will be socially distanced at the dais. Council chambers has been upgraded to allow for all participants to view and hear all board members, City staff and members of the public, whether they are participating in person or virtually.
While in-person attendance by members of the public is allowed, due to COVID-19 the City strongly encourages the public and staff to attend virtually, especially if you feel sick. Masks are recommended to be worn by those attending in person and public seating has been marked off to accommodate social distancing, allowing for approximately 38 citizens (see attached photos). The area where public comment is given will be disinfected between speakers, and chambers will be cleaned between meetings.
The first meeting to be held using this hybrid approach will be the Architectural Review Board at 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13.
The next City Council meeting will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25. The second reading of the proposed mask ordinance will be discussed. Full agenda and instructions to follow.
