City of Venice issued the following announcement on Feb. 21
A consultant for the City of Venice Utilities Department is having a contractor perform subsurface utility engineering (SUE) work for the design of an upcoming project.
OMNI Communications, LLC will begin vacuum excavations (potholing) work on Monday, Feb. 24, and expects to be complete by Friday, Feb. 28, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The work is in various locations along Tarpon Center Drive, Inlet Circle and Gibbs Road within the road right-of-way.
The roadway will remain open during this work, with intermittent closures and obstructed views. The contractor will have staff flagging the areas. Motorists are advised to please drive slowly and use caution.
