Congressman Greg Steube, a Republican representative from Florida’s 17th district, addressed several national issues in a series of posts on his social media account in late August 2025.

On August 27, Steube commented on a recent violent incident at a Catholic school in Minnesota. He wrote, "We grieve with the families and community shattered by the horrific attack on the Catholic school in Minnesota. No parent should ever fear for their child’s safety in a place of learning and faith.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in" (August 27, 2025).

The following day, Steube discussed bipartisan agreement regarding crime reduction measures in Washington, D.C., stating, "It’s a great day in America when you have a Democrat mayor agreeing with President Trump’s actions to reduce crime in Washington, D.C.

Grateful to have a President who actually cares about crime and will make the tough decisions to keep people safe." (August 28, 2025).

Later on August 28, he posted about federal spending changes initiated by House Republicans: "Thanks to House Republicans, your tax dollars no longer fund this insanity." (August 28, 2025).

Steube has represented Florida’s 17th congressional district since January 2019. The topics he addressed reflect ongoing national debates over public safety in schools and urban areas as well as federal budget priorities. The referenced attack at the Minnesota Catholic school is part of an ongoing concern over violence affecting educational institutions across the United States.
