Congressman Greg Steube, representing Florida's 17th district since 2019, has recently shared his views on several topics through social media. His tweets address issues ranging from the U.S. debt crisis to concerns over university hiring practices and personal anecdotes.

On May 17, 2025, Congressman Steube commented on a significant development regarding the nation's financial standing. He stated that "Moody’s just confirmed what Washington refuses to admit: the debt crisis is here." Steube noted that Moody's had maintained a perfect credit score for the U.S. since 1917 until recently, attributing this change to bipartisan spending habits.

Later that day, he expressed concerns about hiring decisions at the University of Florida (UF). As an alumnus and Hall of Famer of UF, he questioned why "under a Republican-led board," someone associated with writing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategies was hired. He criticized Santa Ono for promoting "leftist ideology at Michigan," asserting such ideologies have no place in Florida.

On May 20, 2025, Steube shared a lighter note by reflecting on his enjoyment of competitive activities against political opponents. He tweeted "Nothing better than hitting dingers off Democrats—on and off the field."

Greg Steube was born in Bradenton, Florida in 1978 and currently resides in Sarasota. He graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2000 and earned his Juris Doctor from the same institution in 2003. Before serving in Congress starting in 2019 after succeeding Tom Rooney, he was part of the Florida House of Representatives from 2010 to 2016.
