Congressman Greg Steube, representing Florida's 17th district, shared his views on various national issues through a series of tweets on May 15, 2025. His statements touched upon topics such as immigration policy and the leadership changes within the National Intelligence Council.

In a tweet posted at 17:59 UTC, Congressman Steube criticized Democratic policies regarding citizenship and immigration. He stated, "No other country hands out citizenship just for showing up. But Democrats did…and the cartels loved it. They have created loopholes for illegal immigration. Their backdoor amnesty scheme ends now."

Later that day, at 20:10 UTC, Steube expressed support for Director Gabbard's actions at the National Intelligence Council (NIC). He tweeted, "Finally! Director Gabbard is doing what others wouldn’t–cleaning house at the National Intelligence Council. For years, the NIC pushed politicized, one-sided narratives. Now, under President Trump, ODNI is restoring balance and truth. I applaud @DNIGabbard for taking bold," indicating approval of efforts to address perceived biases within the organization.

In a lighter note posted at 23:18 UTC, Steube made a cultural reference by tweeting "Han Solo and Princess Leia would be proud." The context or subject of this remark was not further elaborated in his tweet.

Greg Steube has been serving in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Tom Rooney. Born in Bradenton, Florida in 1978 and currently residing in Sarasota, he holds degrees from the University of Florida.
