Congressman Greg Steube, representing Florida's 17th district, has recently shared his views on several issues through a series of tweets. Steube, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress since 2019 after replacing Tom Rooney, is known for his active engagement in legislative matters and public discourse.
On May 6, 2025, Congressman Steube highlighted concerns regarding the House Intelligence report on the 2017 Congressional Baseball shooting. He stated that "The House Intel report exposes how the Deep State covered up the 2017 Congressional Baseball shooting." He accused the FBI of withholding critical information from the public and described the shooter as a "radical left-wing TERRORIST."
In another tweet dated May 7, 2025, Steube announced new legislation aimed at enhancing security at large public events. He introduced the DEFENSE Act to allow local law enforcement to manage drone threats effectively. According to him, "Americans should be able to enjoy a game or concert without the threat of hostile drones flying overhead."
Later that day, Steube criticized members of the Democratic Party for their political stance and actions related to international criminal activities. He claimed that Democrats are more focused on internal disputes than establishing clear policies and noted that some traveled to El Salvador in defense of an MS-13 gang member. His tweet asserted that "They’d rather protect a violent criminal than protect you."
Greg Steube was born in Bradenton, Florida in 1978 and currently resides in Sarasota. A graduate of the University of Florida with both a Bachelor’s degree and a Juris Doctorate, he previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2010 to 2016.
