Congressman Greg Steube, a representative of Florida’s 17th district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, recently shared his views on various topics through social media. Born in Bradenton, Florida, Steube has been active in politics since his tenure in the Florida House of Representatives from 2010 to 2016. On May 4, Steube commented on Disney's "Andor" series with a tweet that read: "May the 4th be with you—but not with Disney’s woke Andor." He criticized Season 2, Episode 3 for including "drunken dance raves, identity politics, lesbian drama," and scenes of Stormtroopers killing “illegals,” which he described as "radical left-wing garbage."
Later that day, at 23:02 UTC, Congressman Steube praised efforts led by President Trump and Florida law enforcement concerning immigration. In his words: "Thanks to President Trump’s leadership and the courage of Florida law enforcement, more than 1,100 illegal migrants were just arrested in a joint operation." He labeled these actions as putting "America First."
On May 5 at 13:07 UTC, Steube extended congratulations to two students from Port Charlotte High School for their achievements in the Congressional Art Competition. The tweet stated: "Congratulations to Tammy Ha and Sophie Davis...on winning 1st and 2nd place..." Tammy Ha's artwork titled "Woven Reflections" will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year.
Steube was born in Bradenton, Florida in 1978 and is an alumnus of the University of Florida where he earned both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Juris Doctor degree.
