Congressman Greg Steube, representing Florida’s 17th district, has taken to social media to express his views on recent developments. Steube, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress since 2019 after replacing Tom Rooney, shared a series of tweets addressing various political and social issues.
On May 5, 2025, Congressman Steube announced a significant decision by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He stated that "NIH is finally shutting down the labs that brutally tortured and killed thousands of beagles for over 40 years." Steube emphasized his role in introducing legislation aimed at ending this practice and demanding accountability for what he described as "horrific abuse."
Later that day, on May 5th, Steube posted another tweet highlighting an immigration policy led by former President Trump. He mentioned raising a toast to Trump for "leading the largest deportation effort in American history!"
The following day, on May 6th, Steube addressed issues related to women's sports. He criticized efforts by what he termed as "the radical Left" to use women's sports for advancing their agenda. In his view, these efforts have failed due to actions taken under Trump's leadership. He asserted that "we are fighting to protect women’s sports and defeat the woke war on common sense."
Congressman Greg Steube was born in Bradenton, Florida in 1978 and currently resides in Sarasota. He holds a BS degree from the University of Florida (2000) and a JD from the same institution (2003). Prior to his congressional service beginning in 2019, he served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2010 to 2016.
