Congressman Greg Steube, representing Florida's 17th District, expressed his views on economic and fiscal issues through a series of tweets recently. Steube, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress since 2019, made statements regarding trade policies and tax legislation, highlighting his perspectives and legislative actions.
On April 2, 2025, Steube addressed former President Trump's trade policies, pointing out their significance. He stated, "What many fail to realize: Trump’s reciprocal tariffs are a long-overdue response to years of unfair trade policies against America. For decades, America has been ripped off by other countries who have repeatedly slapped tariffs on our goods, blocked our products, and flooded."
In another tweet dated April 3, 2025, Steube informed constituents about a new law related to tax deductions. He shared, "TAX DAY IS ALMOST HERE—PLEASE READ AND SHARE! My tax bill is now law, which means Americans can claim tax deductions for hurricane expenses and any other federally declared disasters. With the Suncoast still reeling from multiple hurricanes over the years—like Helene."
