On February 1, 2025, Congressman Steube commented on President Trump's military actions in Somalia. He stated that "President Trump’s bold action against ISIS operatives in Somalia demonstrates a renewed commitment to our national security." He emphasized that these efforts convey a strong message about America's stance on terrorism.

Two days later, on February 3, 2025, he praised President Trump for his initiatives concerning border security. In his tweet, he expressed gratitude by saying "Thank you, President Trump, for standing up for border security. Stopping the flow of fentanyl and illegal migration across our southern border is critical." He highlighted this as positive news for America.

Later that day, Steube further elaborated on recent developments related to border control under President Trump's administration. In his tweet from February 3, he mentioned specific measures being implemented: "In less than two weeks, President Trump has already begun repairing the damage from the disastrous Biden border invasion." He noted Mexico's agreement to deploy troops to combat drug trafficking as part of these efforts.
