Larry Fink and Martha Posner, partners for over three decades, are showcasing their work together for the first time at the Sarasota Art Museum. The exhibition, titled "Larry Fink / Martha Posner: Flesh and Bone," is on display from November 17, 2024, to April 13, 2025. This event brings together 90 photographs by Fink alongside nearly 80 works by Posner, including sculptures and multimedia pieces.

Virginia Shearer, executive director of the Sarasota Art Museum, commented on the exhibition: “‘Larry Fink / Martha Posner: Flesh and Bone’ offers a glimpse into the artists’ decades-long partnership in life and art.” She highlighted how visitors can see similarities and shared influences across their distinct bodies of work.

Fink's photography career captured a wide array of subjects from public figures to rural Pennsylvania life. His notable works include photographs from “Social Graces,” exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in 1979. Posner's art often uses natural materials to explore themes like myth and women's experiences. Her “Mercy” series features sculptures made from beeswax and found objects.

Posner reflected on their shared history with the farm that inspired much of their work: “I first came to the farm in the early 1990s... Sharing this exhibition with Larry almost makes me feel like he is still here with me.”

Peter Barberie, curator of the exhibition, noted: “‘Larry Fink / Martha Posner: Flesh and Bone’ examines Fink’s photography in a different light... Each artist taps into universal qualities of myth to represent the drives and passions that shape human experience.”

The exhibition is supported by various organizations including the Community Foundation of Sarasota County. It highlights both artists' contributions to contemporary art through their unique perspectives shaped by personal experiences.
