Cardinal Mooney High School issued the following announcement on Feb. 12.
We wanted to update, and thank everyone, who has been praying for Candie Barrameda ‘16. Candie received a kidney from Sarasota resident and Pine View graduate, Kathryn Kochevar. The two have never met but when Kathryn heard Candie’s story, she discovered she was a match and wanted to make a difference.
The kidney transplant surgery took place last week at Tampa General Hospital. Candie thanks their amazing team, Kathryn and her family, and all of you for your prayers. Kathryn was discharged a day after donating her kidney and Candie is going home today to recover. God is good!
