City Of Sarasota, Fl issued the following announcement on Jan. 04.

Learn how attainable housing could be included in future developments within downtown Sarasota zone districts and provide input during town hall meetings to be held Jan. 19 and March 1.

City staff is seeking public input to implement the Comprehensive Plan Amendment recently approved by the City Commission to stimulate developer interest for much-needed attainable housing. The Comprehensive Plan Amendment provides the opportunity for a density bonus up to four times the base density in exchange for attainable housing on-site in downtown.

During the Jan. 19 meeting, an informational overview will be provided on the newly adopted Comprehensive Plan Amendment and how it creates the opportunity to boost the attainable housing inventory in four downtown zone districts.

The March 1 town hall will focus on a summary of the proposal  with an opportunity for citizen feedback.

Can't make it in person? The Town Halls will be livestreamed and available on demand via the City of Sarasota website: https://www.sarasotafl.gov/services/meetings-agendas-videos
