City Of North Port issued the following announcement on Dec. 01.
PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE
A temporary interruption in water service occurred in the Lazy River mobile home community on Wednesday morning where an underground hydrant valve failed. The break and subsequent repair work affected 160 accounts within the mobile home community.
Service has been restored, however a boil water advisory will be in effect as a precaution. We advise that all water used for consumption (for example, drinking and cooking water, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes) should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute. As an alternative, bottled water may be used. Affected residents will need to continue boiling water for consumption until a “Rescission of the Boil Water Notice” is issued when the advisory has been lifted.
