City Of North Port issued the following announcement on Aug. 19.
Cooper the Cougar, Cranberry Elementary’s school mascot, has been missing all week! Students and staff from the school have been working hard to lure him back from his extended summer vacation!
As luck would have it, Mayor Emrich was alerted of a disturbance this morning at the Aquatic Center of a hotdog eating, fuzzy mascot! Mayor Emrich, with the help of the City Manager Jerome Fletcher and Commissioners Barbara Langdon and Jill Luke, brought Cooper back to his home at Cranberry Elementary where he was welcomed with open arms and big smiles!
