City Of Venice recently issued the following announcement.
This month, the Venice Police Department and Venice Fire Rescue trained together to further their agencies' efforts when responding to active shooter incidents.
S.A.V.E., or Swift Assisted Victim Extraction, allows Fire Rescue to enter a structure to medically treat and remove any possible viable victims under the security of VPD during active shooter incidents. Due to the rising frequency of these types of incidents, both agencies agreed to take a proactive stance on increasing their capability to respond to these types of calls.
This training is just one of the many joint operations that Venice Fire Rescue and Venice Police Department will be performing to better serve the community and its citizens.
