City Of Venice issued the following announcement on Mar. 15.
The Venice Area Old Timers Picnic will take place on Saturday, March 19 behind Nokomis Park, 234 Nippino Trail, Nokomis 34275, with entry starting at 10:30 a.m.
Local history and happenings are remembered, and a reunion of many families will take place, to celebrate times of days gone by.
The Old Timers Picnic was first organized in 1979, and has met every year since, except 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. Emphasis is on families and folks who have been in the Venice area for 50 years (since 1972 and before).
