Storm Grove Middle School issued the following announcement on Aug. 02.
Some important information regarding orientation, laptop pick-up and house bill 529.
We have extended our orientation from 2-6 pm on Wednesday. Parents and students may come anytime during that widow.
There will be an informational PowerPoint running in the cafeteria which will be posted on our website after orientation. You may pick up schedules, PE uniforms, spirit shirts and sweatshirts and laptops at orientation.
It is important that you go on to your students FOCUS account and sign the necessary forms including the student code of conduct, network agreement for internet access and the permission to video or photograph your child. You will not be able to pick up a laptop until those forms are completed. We will have computer access that evening if you need assistance in finding the forms.
Additionally, please be on the lookout for a letter coming home on the first day of school regarding House Bill 529. This bill requires a moment of silence in schools. No suggestions or comments will be made to students regarding the moment of silence. We encourage families to discuss with their children how best to use this time in relation to your core beliefs and values. It is important that you also discuss the need for all children to be respectful of this time.
