City Of North Port issued the following announcement on July 18.
It's blue-lid recycling week and here are a few common items that show up in totes that shouldn't:
Hangers: You may be surprised at this one. Even plastic hangers can be problematic for the equipment used to sort recycling material.
Plastic sheeting, wrap, and bags: As we've noted before, these materials can jam up and cause damage to sorting equipment.
Cardboard: This one should be a little obvious. No cardboard in your blue tote!
