CARDINAL MOONEY HIGH SCHOOL: We are excited to announce the addition of two new positions

Teacher

Cardinal Mooney High School issued the following announcement on July 21.

We are excited to announce the addition of two new positions that will continue to build on the positive growth the school is experiencing. Amy Gorman has joined Cardinal Mooney as the Director of Development and Julie Santiago has been promoted to the new Director of Student Life.

“Both Amy Gorman and Julie Santiago will bring a new level of expertise and enthusiasm to their positions at Cardinal Mooney,” said Principal Ben Hopper. “Our school continues to grow and the overwhelming need to support our expanding community has never been as important.  We look forward to our families getting to know them in their new roles.”

Amy Gorman has over 16 years of experience working in community development and fundraising. Gorman recently worked in the corporate and community advancement office at State College of Florida where she engaged with community organizations and pursued corporate sponsorships for capital campaigns.  Prior to that, Gorman managed the Parent’s Fund with The Taft School in Watertown, CT, where she sustained a current parent giving participation rate of 90% or higher for 10 campaign years. Gorman will head up development for Cardinal Mooney and lead capital campaigns, fundraising events and alumni relations as well as manage corporate and community sponsorships. She holds her Juris Doctorate from the State University of NY (SUNY), Buffalo and her Bachelor of Arts in Humanities/English from SUNY, Stony Brook.

Julie Santiago has been with Cardinal Mooney for five years as the Assistant Athletic Director and has been recently selected as the new Director of Student Life, a new position at the school. Being the Assistant AD at Cardinal Mooney afforded Santiago the opportunity to interact with athletes and work with various departments on campus thus allowing her to develop relationships with the Mooney community as a whole. In her new position, Santiago will build on these relationships and further Mooney’s educational mission by engaging in student development, planning school–wide events, and collaborate with Student Government. She will also work in tandem with the theology department where she will help prepare students to serve and lead by nurturing spiritual growth. Santiago earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and her Master’s in Science in Sports Management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).
