ASHTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: 2020 Drive-Thru Flu Vaccination Clinics

Vacc

Ashton Elementary School recently issued the following announcement.

Flu season is fast approaching and Sarasota County Schools wants to make sure our students, teachers, and staff members are as healthy as possible. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends the flu vaccine as the first line of defense – especially for children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems.

The school district has partnered with the Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County to provide no-cost flu shots for all students at select drive-thru locations. Teachers, district staff members, parents, and younger siblings of school-age children are welcome to attend as well. Please note the following schedule:

No prior appointment is necessary, and all paperwork & consent forms must be filled out on-site. Assistance will be available for anyone who may require additional help completing the forms. Medicaid and private insurance information will be collected for those who have coverage, but no copays will be requested.

If you are unable to attend one of the drive-thru clinics, please consider bringing your child to the Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County for their flu vaccination. Please note, you will need to call ahead and request an appointment: 941-861-2784 (Sarasota) or 941-861-3850 (North Port). If you have any questions, please contact the School Health Office at 941-927-9000 x32101.
