City of Venice recently issued the following announcement.

The Venice Area Orchid Society will present their 54th annual orchid show and sale at the Venice Community Center, 326 S. Nokomis Ave., on Feb. 1-2. Show hours are 10am-5pm on Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sunday. Admission is $5; children under 10 free.
Thousands of blooming orchids will be for sale and on display in 11 artistically designed exhibits. Orchid art, accessories and supplies will also be for sale. Free classes. Widely regarded as the most popular orchid show on Florida's west coast.
