Congressman Greg Steube, who represents Florida's 17th congressional district, has recently used his social media platform to address international diplomacy, the conflict in Gaza, and local cybersecurity concerns.

On October 15, 2025, Steube commented on a recent diplomatic event, stating, "There’s a reason more than 20 world leaders joined President Trump this week in Egypt for the signing of the historic peace deal ending the war in Gaza. It’s because they recognize no one has done more for peace and stability in the Middle East than @realDonaldTrump." The post referred to a peace agreement involving multiple international leaders and former President Donald Trump.

Later that day, Steube addressed ongoing tensions in Gaza, posting, "It was never about a ceasefire for the 'Free Palestine' cult. It was always about ensuring these murderous cowards would remain in power to continue brutalizing their own people. There can be no peace as long as Hamas controls Gaza." This statement reflects his position on the governance of Gaza and the prospects for peace in the region.

On October 16, 2025, Steube turned his attention to a domestic issue, warning residents of his district about cybercrime: " Attention all residents of Southwest Florida: foreign criminal organizations are targeting Americans over text. Scammers in China are posing as companies, banks, and even government agencies to try and dupe you into handing over private financial information. They have already".

Congressman Steube’s district encompasses Southwest Florida, an area that has previously experienced incidents of online scams targeting residents. In recent years, there has been an increase in reports of phishing attempts and other forms of cyber fraud attributed to foreign actors, including groups based in China. These scams often involve impersonation of trusted organizations and aim to obtain sensitive personal or financial data from individuals.

Steube’s comments on international diplomacy follow a history of U.S. involvement in Middle East peace negotiations, with former President Trump previously mediating agreements such as the Abraham Accords. The ongoing debate over governance in Gaza remains a focal point in U.S. foreign policy discussions, particularly regarding Hamas’s role and prospects for lasting peace.
