The U.S. House of Representatives has approved six amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2026, all introduced by Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.). The amendments were added to H.R. 3838, also known as the Streamlining Procurement for Effective Execution and Delivery and National Defense Authorization Act.

Rep. Steube commented on the outcome: “I am pleased to announce the adoption and passage of six of my amendments in this year’s NDAA. These provisions will strengthen our national security, reinforce key alliances in the Middle East, and ensure greater support for our veterans and servicemembers. I look forward to seeing these measures deliver meaningful results for the American people both at home and abroad.”

The six adopted amendments include a requirement that Congress receive briefings on military aircraft or air-launched munitions approved for transfer to Israel that have not yet been delivered or are only partially delivered. Another amendment gives priority to local law enforcement agencies when adopting ceremonial horses retired from use by the U.S. Army.

Additional provisions extend and modify annual reporting on Iran’s military activities, require the Defense Health Agency to develop plans for reopening previously closed chiropractic clinics on military bases—while also paying chiropractors according to the GS scale—and mandate annual reports on U.S.-Israel cooperation related to increasing production capacity of the Arrow interceptor missile system.

One amendment calls for an annual report on joint U.S.-Israel military exercises, focusing on how these activities benefit both countries.
