Congressman Greg Steube, representing Florida's 17th district, has recently shared a series of tweets addressing significant issues related to federal hiring practices and workforce management. Steube, who has been serving in Congress since 2019 after replacing Tom Rooney, also served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2010 to 2016.

On January 30, 2025, Congressman Steube tweeted about recent comments made by former President Donald Trump concerning the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). "Trump just highlighted that a few weeks ago, the FAA was prioritizing hiring disabled individuals and those with mental illnesses as air traffic controllers. How about we hire the most qualified individuals for these critical roles; not make decisions based on race, disability,…"

Also on January 31, Congressman Steube commented on an executive order issued by the President. He stated: "ICYMI: Brilliant move by POTUS. Decades of legislation crafted by timid lawmakers have made it nearly impossible to remove underperforming federal workers from outdated positions. This executive order could reduce the federal workforce by 5-10% practically overnight, potentially…"
