Keiser University-Sarasota issued the following announcement on Feb 25.
We're honored to celebrate Dr. Sonja Brookins during Black History Month. She's a Keiser University Instructor of Anatomy and Physiology, and Microbiology at the Clearwater campus.
She's also the first African American ever elected to the Hillsborough Soil & Water Conservation District and to the Democratic Environmental Caucus of Florida (DECF). And she's the first African American to be elected Vice President of the Association of Florida Conservation Districts in Hillsborough County. We're so proud!
