Southside Elementary School issued the following announcement on Nov. 04.
Ms. Anzures came in Mrs. Eicher’s class and played “Loteria,” a Mexican bingo-type game, to celebrate finishing “Esperanza Rising” by Pam Munoz Ryan. The class also enjoyed food featured in the book, compared Mexican history to events in the historical fiction book, and took a gallery walk of primary pictures of the time period.
