City Of North Port recently issued the following announcement.
Grab your little ghosts and goblins and get ready for a spooky good time at the upcoming Trick or Treat at City Center, presented by Suncoast Credit Union! This event will be held on October 29 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. While traditionally hosted inside City Hall, this treasured annual event has been modified into an outdoor-only event that will be held on the City Center Front Green (4970 City Hall Blvd.). The community is invited to attend and walk the Candy Corn Trail to receive treats from City Departments, as well as local businesses and non-profit organizations. Please note - all children MUST be accompanied by an adult and dressed in costume and alcohol is prohibited.
All attendees will be asked to practice good physical distancing and are strongly encouraged to follow current health and safety guidelines.
In addition to the Candy Corn Trail, City employees will also be hosting a Cans for Candy nonperishable food drive. Families are requested to bring a can of food per family, which will be donated to local food pantries. Look for our young marine volunteers who will take your donations the day of the event!
The North Port Kiwanis will also be coordinating a Scarecrow Stroll along the sidewalk from the City Center Front Green to the George Mullen Activity Center which will be displayed October 10 – November 1. Those interested in participating or sponsoring a scarecrow can contact the Kiwanis at makingfldreams@gmail.com. Deadline to register for the Scarecrow Stroll is October 1.
