Life is known to throw us curve balls and perhaps no one knows that more than a parent who is juggling a career and trying to help their child with their homework projects.

For Tracy Jones, finding the proper balance between her career and getting her daughter, Isabella, the proper academic instruction she needed could have turned into a frustrating endeavor.

The Jones family had just relocated from Indiana to Sarasota, Florida during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, adding to the dynamic of finding Isabella the proper education that would be ideal for both of their schedules.

The move was especially difficult for her daughter, who was struggling at her new school.

“I couldn’t be there to help her because of my work and to see her struggling was difficult,” Tracy Jones said.

Tracy Jones considered homeschooling, but her career left her with little to no time to pull off such an endeavor, so she did her own homework about a school program that could benefit her daughter and her own time constraints.

Her research led her to Acellus Power Homeschool, an online homeschool program.

The homeschool program is intended to aid parents in homeschooling their students.

Parents can choose up to seven courses at a time from numerous courses, grades pre-K-12, where students are able to learn at their own pace under the supervision and assistance of their parents.

“I was concerned for Isabella because I didn't know if I could find a homeschooling option that could adapt to my packed schedule and aid Isabella in her learning,” Tracy Jones said.

Power Homeschool course materials are standards-based and provide a full online learning experience in each subject area.

Students may take up to seven courses simultaneously, and the selection of courses may be adjusted at any time.

“Isabella could finish courses in six to eight weeks and be done with it,” Tracy Jones said. “She could focus on one thing at a time.”

Detailed progress reports are available to Power Homeschool parents and students. These reports indicate the student’s grade within each course and provide a score for each lesson completed.

Tracy Jones is happy to keep working with Power Homeschool as it accommodates her busy schedule and allows her daughter to excel in her studies.

“We have found the way she needs to learn, and she is doing so well,” she added.
